Amedeo Amedei (01/04/1971) is Associate Professor at the University of Florence, Department of Internal Medicine (MED / 46); from 2012 is the owner of "courses Applied Biology " and " Infectious Diseases " for the degree course in nursing. As for his duties he is currently in charge at the Department SOD Company Neuromuscoscheletrico University Hospital of Correggio urea test (breath test) for the detection of infection by Helicobacter pylori. As funding for research in recent years has received from the Ministry, private and university. At present his scientific work consists of: 127 publications in international journals, citations , Impact Points of 618.77, 7 chapters of books scientific , an international patent (WO / 2007/039451), communication 43 congresses scientific, present in 'editorial board of 51 scientific journals and reviewer for 45 international journals.

Dr. Vivek Verma is an expert in the field of Tumor Immunology and cancer immunotherapy. Using cutting edge technology Dr. Verma has been delineating the mechanisms of resistance to cancer immunotherapy. His work has led to change in the medical practice with an impact on design and development of immune checkpoint therapy clinical trials. In addition to tumor immunology, Dr. Verma also researches the effects of immune metabolism on therapeutic outcomes after immune checkpoint inhibition or cell therapies. Using small molecule interventions along with immune checkpoint inhibitors, Dr. Verma has established newer ways to treat cancers.

Georgia is currently a Principal Investigator (Group Leader) at the San Raffaele DRI of Milan and her group is conducting investigations on the cellular, molecular, and genetic underpinnings of T1D. Georgia Fousteri completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Crete, School of Biology, Heraklion, Greece (2000). She completed her Master’s degree (2002) and later a Ph.D. degree (2006) in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine at the same University, where she conducted studies on TNF and its role in peripheral immune tolerance in a double transgenic mouse model expressing a class I-restricted TCR and the respective antigen in the pancreatic islets. This is where her journey to type 1 diabetes (T1D) started. She continued her postdoctoral studies (2006-2020) at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology in La Jolla, CA, USA, where she conducted basic and translational research in T1D addressing how autoreactive T cells recognize insulin, and how to promote tolerance via antigen-specific immunotherapy. She continued her postdoctoral studies at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (TIGET) and soon after the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) in Milan, Italy, where she contributed to the genetic engineering of Tr1 cells, and the understanding of the autoimmune susceptibility gene Ptpn22 and viruses in Treg-mediated immune tolerance.
